Parents should consider their children to be candidates for such services if:

1. their child has considerable treatment needs that would otherwise require multiple treatment appointments, which could prove to be very difficult for the child to accept.
2. their child is highly anxious and considerable dental treatment needs exist.
3. their child is a person with special needs and has considerable dental treatment needs.
